I Started a Free Facebook Group for AI Builders. Here Is Why.

AI Architect & Co-Founder

I have been building in public on this site for a while now. Posting the real stuff - the errors, the architecture decisions, the things that took three attempts to get right.

But a blog is one direction. I wanted a place where the conversation goes both ways.

So I started a free Facebook group: AI Builders with Rye.

It is free. It will always be free. Here is why I built it and what I want it to become.

Why Facebook and Not Discord or Slack

I thought about this. Discord is great for developers but it has a learning curve that filters out a lot of the people I actually want in the room. Slack feels like work. LinkedIn is too formal and the algorithm buries group content.

Facebook Groups still has the best combination of reach, ease of use, and notification delivery for the audience I care about most - founders, operators, and small business owners who are serious about AI but not necessarily technical. People who are building real things with real constraints.

If you are already on Facebook, you are one click away from being in the room.

What the Group Is For

Three things: collaborate, teach, and learn.

Collaborate - I want this to be a place where people share what they are working on and get real input. Not just “great post!” but actual feedback, alternative approaches, and people who have solved the same problem a different way. If you are stuck on something, post it. If you have solved something, share it.

Teach - I will be sharing things I am learning in real time. Not polished courses. The actual notes from the build. When I figure out why a prerender pipeline was hiding 113 pages from Google, that goes in the group the same day. When I wire a new model into the stack and it breaks in an interesting way, that goes in the group too.

Learn - The most valuable thing in any community is the people who know something you do not. I learn from builders who are earlier in the journey because they ask questions I stopped asking years ago. I learn from people who are further along because they have already hit the wall I am about to hit. Both directions matter.

What I Am Building Right Now

If you want context for what you are walking into, here is the current build:

I am running a multi-agent AI ecosystem across two businesses - Logoclothz (custom event apparel) and Ready, Plan, Grow! (business education for small business owners). The agents handle content, SEO, competitive intelligence, customer service, and operational workflows.

The whole stack is built on the principle that you own your AI and can take it anywhere. No vendor lock-in. No black boxes. Every agent has a documented skill, a registry entry, and a knowledge base it reads from before it acts.

I am documenting all of it here on the build log and now in the group.

The One Rule

No fluff. No “AI is going to change everything” takes without something practical attached. If you post something, make it useful to someone else in the room.

Everything else is fair game.

Join the Group

It is free. It will stay free.

See you in there.

Stay curious, my AI friend. Think like you are seven.
